The Kandy Society of Medicine (KSM), in collaboration with Melwa Conglomerate, successfully carried out its 10th Humanitarian Project to support children affected by recent floods and landslides. As part of this initiative, 252 students of Gammaduwa Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Matale received school bags, stationery items, and uniform materials to help them continue their education despite the hardships caused by the cyclone and landslide.
The event was graced by Mr. Premkumar, Zonal Director of Melwa Conglomerate, Mr. Thiyagarajah, Principal of Gammaduwa Tamil Maha Viyalaya, Teachers, parents, and children of the school community.
With a budget exceeding 1 million rupees, this project demonstrated the diverse capacities of KSM in extending humanitarian services beyond healthcare, reaching into educational support for vulnerable schoolchildren. By partnering with one of Sri Lanka’s leading industrial groups, KSM showcased the power of collaboration in accomplishing largescale community projects.
