Ankumbura–Alawathugoda was among the areas severely affected by the recent massive landslide, leaving many families buried under debris and numerous others displaced.
Responding to this urgent humanitarian crisis, the KSM team, led by Dr. Kavinda Amarasinghe – Senior Council Member, together with Dr. Krishna Pradeep – Consultant Paediatrician / Council Member, and Dr. Chandana Kekulawala – Consultant Paediatrician / Council Member, mobilized immediately and reached the affected region.
The team donated essential dry rations to three relief centres in the area:
The Collection Center at the mosque (unreachable due to damage)
Vilana Udagama Temple
Sri Samadhi Aramaya
Through this intervention, over 300 individuals received critical support during this period of hardship.
Despite severely damaged and extremely risky roads, the KSM team travelled for more than 12 continuous hours, from morning until late night, to ensure the successful completion of this mission on 03.12.2025
