Flood and Disaster Relief Project – Gurukele, Nillambe
The Nillambe area recorded the highest rainfall in the Kandy District (540 mm), resulting in severe floods and landslides. In response to this situation, our team promptly coordinated with the Grama Niladhari officers of Gurukele to identify urgent needs and provide support to the affected families. Dry ration packs were donated as requested to assist those impacted by the disaster.
Prof. Manjula Attygalla (Council Member), together with Prof. Duminda Yasarathna (Council Member), Dr. Anura Rajapaksa (Council Member), Dr. Suwini Wijesinghe, and Dr. Namali, travelled through challenging conditions to successfully carry out and complete the project.
