KSM 8th Humanitarian Programme Flood and Disaster Relief Project Heerasagala- Hanthana

10 Dec

Members of the Kandy Society of Medicine (KSM) were actively involved in helping-hand missions to assist victims affected by the Ditwa Cyclone, floods, and landslides across several regions, starting from the very onset of the disaster.

We did not forget our neighbouring community in Heerasagala – Hanthana. Several families in this area were issued red notices requiring evacuation from their homes due to the severe risk of landslides.

In response, KSM provided dry ration support to families facing genuine financial hardship and loss of regular income caused by adverse weather conditions.

Dr. Asela Ratnayake, Joint Secretary of KSM, and Dr. Kavinda Amarasinghe, Council Member and Programme Facilitator, actively participated in this humanitarian effort, carried out with the guidance and assistance of the Grama Sevaka officials of the respective region.
